Parent Groups at SVES

The Association for Building Community (ABC) is a parent volunteer organization whose mission is to promote and strengthen our school community.  We support our school by bringing families together to participate in social activities where all are welcome.  ABC members also serve as mentors and resources for new families. 


The ABC hosts several events throughout the year including: Kindergarten Lemonade Social, New Family Mass & Dinner, Halloween Carnival, Christmas Shoppe, Gingerbread House Decorating Night, Taco Bingo Night, Father / Daughter Dance, Mother / Son Bowling Event, and a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast.  In addition, the ABC provides all new families with an experienced Buddy Family to assist them with their transition to St. Vincent's.  We are also proud to present a scholarship annually to a deserving 8th grade student.



School Council


The Council is an advisory body for St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School.  The general purpose of this Council is to support the philosophy of the school, whose aim is to integrate the teaching of gospel values with the total curriculum and then to create an environment where Christian community can be experienced through liturgy, Catholic doctrine, and social action.  The Council’s discussion areas are: Mission and Philosophy, Policy Development, Planning (strategic/long range), Finances (budgeting, setting tuition), Advancement (fundraising, public relations, publicity, enrollment) & Facilities.  Members serve a two year term.




Dads’ Club


The Dads’ Club develops community among fathers of students at our school.  Casual dinner meetings are held five times a year in the St. Vincent’s parish hall.  Volunteer dads cook, visit and make new friends.




All parents are automatically members of PFO, the major fundraising organization for both our  elementary and the parish high school.  As a parent and a member of PFO you are asked to support and actively take part in its meetings and fundraising events.  Since its beginning, it has raised over $2,000,000.  Our goal is that this type of support will continue so we can continue to maintain and develop programs while keeping tuition at a minimum.  Major events are the annual dinner with silent and live auctions in November, a springtime rummage sale, and the annual golf tournament in May.
